If you can spare an hour or two of your time, this is a wonderful outreach for the whole family. Depending on the season, fruit and vegetables are harvested. Then it is given local organizations that work to feed hungry families in our neighborhood. Thousands of volunteers participate each year and tens of millions of pounds of produce are picked and given to the poor at no cost to them.
