 Subject: God Will Draw Nearer to UsSCRIPTURE: "And when you draw close to God, God will draw close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and let your hearts be filled with God alone to make them pure and true to him." James 4:8 OBSERVATION: When we long for God, to be near Him, to be in His very presence, He will draw near to us. We are so unworthy of such a great blessing. We are but "dust", sinners, weak, unholy. Still God, the Creator, who holds the world in His hands, will draw near to us. WOW! But this is how God made us. He gave us a "hole in our soul". We have this desire, this want, this need to fill this empty place inside us. We try many things, possessions, drugs, physical pleasures and on and on. But only God can satisfy this hunger. He will draw near to us every time we draw nearer to Him. We will experience the very presence of God, right there by our side. WOW! APPLICATION: I believe this. I claim this promise. I know that when I turn and draw near to God, that He draws near to me. To sit - bow - prostrate myself in the presence of God, is an incredible reality to experience. O, How it lifts me up and strengthens me. Glory! PRAYER: Father God, I long to abide in your presence all my humble days! Amen! |
